On Thursday 8 March 2018 over 50 students received their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Holmfirth High’s first ever celebratory evening for the award since the school became it’s own centre for DofE.

Students presented how they had achieved the award and memorable stories from their expeditions. Mr Murphy, Centre Manager thanked parents and the students for their commitment to the award along with introducing Miss Mills as Assistant Centre Manager along with Mr Paul Bateman who is the Operations Officer for the DofE North of England.

The Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award is introduced in the summer term to our Year 9 students who then move onto completing all aspects of the award during Year 10. Since becoming our own centre we are now able to offer all of students the opportunity if they so wish.
