In order to improve road safety – for both pedestrians and road users, at a busy location near Holmfirth High School – it is proposed that a very small part of unused school land at the bottom of the playing fields is moved from its current status as school land  and comes under the aegis of Kirklees local authority in order in develop a car park. This proposed development will improve highway safety, reduce congestion and also improve security for the school.   Kirklees local authority will be responsible for creating and maintaining the car park facility which will bring a multitude of benefits to the local community, residents  and the school. The school is not receiving any financial gain from the disposal.

To comply with relevant legislation for the disposal of school land, we are required to inform you of this proposal. The land to be disposed of is currently not used by the school, its proposed disposal will in no way have any adverse impact on learning and teaching for our students.

I am very happy to meet with anyone that may wish to discuss the proposal. Please could you let me have any feedback about the proposal by 26th January 2018.
