Senior Prefects

Senior prefects at Holmfirth High School play an important role in maintaining the positive ethos in and around the school. They are outstanding role models and exhibit highest standards of behaviour, attitude and appearance.  They are appointed each year to undertake various roles and responsibilities.

Senior prefects will display the personal qualities that are valued at Holmfirth High, including self-discipline, leadership skills, public speaking, communication skills, and teamwork.  They are reliable and responsible members of the school’s community.

In addition to carrying out the standard duties and responsibilities the senior prefects  have the following additional duties:

To help lead the team of prefects

To create and monitor Prefect duty rotas

To be an approachable member to whom both students and staff can approach for assistance or support.

To represent the school at certain formal occasions such as Evening of Excellence.

To meet regularly with the Head of Year to ensure effective management of:

  • Parents’ Evenings
  • Tour guides
  • Leavers ball
  • Leavers assembly
  • Yearbook
  • Project work
  • Assemblies
